holiday card shoot: wine country

I had a Christmas card shoot this afternoon in Temecula. 'Twas a gorgeous day with beautiful after-the-storm clouds and yummy warm light. I am scheduling weekends starting October 6th. Look for more photos from this session in the SESSION PROOFS section of my website :)

micky D's

A true American tradition (just look at our obesity rates!) Regardless, however, when your kid finds another decent kid or 2 to play with in the PlayPlace, you can't help but appreciate it ;)

thank you

We thank those who celebrated lil E's 4th year :)

On another note: Lens rental really seems like a good idea until you get to the place where you can count on wanting to own one of your own with each new one you try. I am instantly in love with the 50mm 1.4...

pure.childhood.fun.

i dunno 'bout you but nuthin' sez childhood like a decorate-your-own-cupcake activity...

I found the kitschy-kool ballerinas at a shoppe on Etsy. I just thought they were so adorable...

A good day was had by all; although don't know if the parents survived the inevitable sugar crash afterward [lol]

scenes.from.a.[birth]day

Four years ago today my Little One came into the world and completed my family. I love her so.

I took her and her sister to the nail salon to get pampered.

After we had dinner, we sang and had the birthday cake she helped me bake this morning. We were all lucky not to have too many egg shells in it ;)

Just another "actual" birthday before the "party" birthday...

Art Therapy -&- Adulthood

Little E is turning 4 this Friday! The girls and I had some fun painting and decorating the favor boxes for the party on Sunday. I haven't been nearly as good about creating things with E but I sure hope that the little bit that I am able to do with her she enjoys and absorbs. Art is truly therapy for me ; like insulin for the diabetic.

On another note, the photo below is of some of the many collectible toys my husband has bought over the years I have known him. He will be 40 next year but his "hobbies" often make me forget the -0- after the 4. ;) He has shown a bit of maturing lately, however. He gave these Gotcha Man (aka SilverHawks) figurines to the girls to play with. I'm just happy they are off the library shelves; they were a nightmare to dust! Now if only their little heads don't pop off and get stuck in the tub drain...

so close and yet...

so far away :(

My commercial site is 95% done and I am READY to open shoppe. I await my domain company to officially launch me on their end with my correct web address (imagesby138.com).

I received my new 4GB Quad Core Dell yesterday but have had nothing but trouble trying to make the switch. First, I failed to keep the original, full PS software CD so I had to spend an hour with Adobe so they could verify ownership and give me an additional serial code. THEN, at some point after loading 5 or six other programs, my machine decided to crash, leaving me with blue screen errors at start up or a wallpaper with no toolbar and no way to even right click for anything. After 5 hours of this last night, including 2 on the phone with the Dell rep, I quit and am now back on my old Gateway.

This would be less painful if I had my brand new gorgeous Eizo ColorEdge CG monitor. But alas, the company that I ordered THAT from finally told me (2 weeks after I made the order!) that it was Eizo-backordered 3 weeks. Ai ai ai. What is a small business to do with such problems?! Murphy's Law seems to occur in 3s and in close succession. Hopefully, this will pay me up for a smooth and successful holiday card season ;) let us pray...
